Qantas Travel Money is becoming Qantas Pay

On 21 May 2024, Qantas Pay will replace Qantas Travel Money. We're here to help you understand more about the change, how it might impact you and any action you might need to take.

You already use Qantas Travel Money

If you have activated Qantas Travel Money built into your Qantas Frequent Flyer card and your card is still in date, nothing changes for you right now. You will still be able to use your Qantas Travel Money card until it expires.

Your Qantas Travel Money card is lost or expired

From 21 May, a new Qantas Pay card will be made available to you when you login to your account. All you need to do is follow the prompts. You may need to verify your identity again, so have your ID handy.

If possible, we recommend waiting until 21 May to sign up for a Qantas Pay card. If you need it sooner, Qantas Travel Money will still be available to you.

We’ve made the change from Qantas Travel Money to Qantas Pay in order to provide our customers with an easier-to-use, more rewarding way to manage money both at home, and when travelling overseas.

Previously, Qantas Travel Money was integrated into your physical Qantas Frequent Flyer membership card. Now, Qantas Pay has been launched as a new, standalone card.

If you have an activated Qantas Travel Money card, don't worry, you can continue to use your card until its expiry date (located on the back of your Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership card). Prior to your expiry date, you’ll be contacted regarding a replacement Qantas Pay card.

Yes, if you have an activated Qantas Travel Money card, it will continue to work until its expiry date (you’ll find this located on the back of your Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership card). You’ll be contacted regarding a new, replacement Qantas Pay card before your card expires.

Already Using If you are an active Qantas Travel Money card holder, you won’t need to do anything. You’ll still be able to use your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership card with Qantas Travel Money on the back to access your funds, until your card’s expiry date. A new, separate Qantas Pay card will be available to you before that time, we’ll send you an email with all the details closer to your expiry date. In the meantime you will be able to access Qantas Pay as you would your current Qantas Travel Money.

New Joins From 21 May, you are able to sign up to Qantas Pay via the Qantas Money website. Once you’ve joined, you’ll be issued with a new card. Please keep in mind that to set you up with Qantas Pay, we’ll first need to verify your identity. So make sure you have your Driver’s Licence and Passport handy.

Once you’re approved, your card should arrive within 5 to 7 business days.

Your Qantas Travel Money, now Qantas Pay account, login details remain unchanged. You can access your account via both the Qantas Money App and website.

Yes, you will continue to earn Qantas Points whenever you make eligible domestic or international purchases using your Qantas Pay card. Find out more here.

Yes, you can still use the card as your Qantas Frequent Flyer card to access member benefits, for example, earning or using Qantas Points with our program partners (where available).

If you are Silver or above, your membership card will remain valid until the expiry date (located on the front of your Qantas Frequent Flyer card).
