Qantas Pay 'Win a trip to Rome & Amalfi' Promotion Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter forms part of the terms and conditions of entry. Entry into the ‘Win a trip to Rome & Amalfi’ competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. Headings in this document are included for ease of reference, and do not affect interpretation in any way.

2. The promoter is Qantas Airways Limited (ABN 16 009 661 901) of 10 Bourke Road, Mascot, NSW 2020 (Telephone: 13 11 31) (Promoter).

Duration

3. All references to time in this document are a reference to the local time in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia on the date stated. The promotion commences at 12:01am on Wednesday 28 May 2025 and closes at 11:59pm on Tuesday 5 August 2025  (Promotion Period).

Eligibility to enter

4. Entry is open only to Australian residents who are 18 years or over (during the Promotion Period) who enter the competition per the entry criteria (Eligible Entrants), excluding directors, management, employees and their immediate families of the Drawer and its related bodies corporate.

Entry into the promotion

5. Eligible Entrants will receive one (1) entry into the competition when, during the Promotion Period, they;

i) register for the competition online by submitting their details at www.qantasmoney.com/qantas-pay/competition-2025; or

ii) click on the ‘Register now’ link contained in an email sent to Qantas Frequent Flyer members promoting the competition and following the instructions; and

iii) successfully make a point-of-sale purchase online or an eligible in-store transaction in Australian dollars or foreign currency with an activated Qantas Pay card during the Promotion Period. 6. Eligible Entrants will receive one (1) additional entry in the draw for every subsequent point-of-sale purchase online or in-store transaction in Australian dollars or foreign currency with an activated Qantas Pay card during the Promotion Period.

7. Eligible Entrants will receive ten (10) entries into the competition when, during the Promotion Period, they;

i) register for the competition online by submitting their details at www.qantasmoney.com/qantas-pay/competition-2025; or

ii) click on the ‘Register now’ link contained in an email sent to Qantas Frequent Flyer members promoting the competition and following the instructions; and

iii) successfully add a minimum of AU$100 equivalent in foreign currency onto an activated Qantas Pay facility during the Promotion Period.

Entries are calculated on the total value of foreign currency added cumulatively per every AU$100 load equivalent onto the Qantas Pay facility during the Promotion Period.

8. Total maximum number of entries per Eligible Entrant in this promotion is one thousand (1000). 

9. The Promoter is not responsible for any lost, late or misdirected entries.

10. The time of entry will be deemed to be the time the entry is received by the Promoter.

11. The Promoter reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and Eligible Entrants (including an entrant's identity, age and place of residence) and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process. Failure by the Promoter to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights.

Qantas Pay 

12. Qantas Pay is a prepaid Mastercard® payment facility (previously known as Qantas Travel Money built into the back of the Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership Card.) Qantas Travel Money is no longer available for sale. To be eligible to receive the Qantas Pay card, you must be an Australian resident Qantas Frequent Flyer member 16 years of age or older. EML Payment Solutions Limited ('EML') ABN 30 131 436 532, AFSL 404131 (the Issuer) issues Qantas Pay under arrangements between it, Qantas Airways Limited (AFS representative number 261363) and Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia Pty Ltd (AFSL 386837) (a Mastercard business). Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia Pty Ltd distributes Qantas Pay (together with Qantas which is an authorised representative of Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia Pty Ltd for the purposes of providing general financial product advice with respect to Qantas Pay).  

13. Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia Pty Ltd and Qantas earn foreign exchange revenue from Qantas Pay transactions. Mastercard Prepaid Management Services Australia Pty Ltd receives a processing fee from domestic Qantas Pay "point of sale" transactions. Qantas receives revenue generated by Qantas Pay transactions based on interchange fees paid to the Issuer, deposits held by the Issuer, cardholder fee and certain rebates and incentives from Mastercard Asia Pacific/Pte Ltd.

14. Drawing of entries 

15. The Major Prize draw will take place at 10:00am AEST on Wednesday 20 August 2025 at MDSA, Level 16, 1 Denison Street NSW 2060. The draw will be conducted by Mike Da Silva & Associates (Drawer).

16. The Minor Prize draws will be conducted weekly at 10:00am AEST on every first business day of the week from Tuesday 10 June 2025 with the last Minor Prize draw to take place at 10:00am AEST on Monday 11 August 2025.

17. The result of the draws are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

The Prize

18. There will be 1 x Major Prize, where the winner will receive:

• Two (2) return Business Class airfares to be used by the winner and one (1) travel companion (aged 18 years or over) departing from the winner’s nearest Australian Qantas operating airport and arriving at Rome, Italy (includes all airline and airport taxes);

• AU$2,000 loaded onto their Qantas Pay Card used in entering this promotion, and an additional AU$2,000 loaded onto their travel companion’s Qantas Pay Card, each amount equivalent to EUR1037.92 as at 08/04/2025;

• One (1) double-occupancy hotel accommodation of the Promoter’s choice for five (5) nights, including breakfast;

• One (1) ‘Priceless Amalfi Experience’, for example sailing to Capri or a private concert in a Villa at the Promoter’s choice;

• One (1) private city tour at the Promoter’s choice;

• Dinner for two (2) on two (2) nights at restaurants selected by the Promoter, one (1) will be Michelin star rated; and

• Transfers to/from the airport and hotel in Rome and Amalfi, and ground transportation for all Prize related activities.

19. There will be ten (10) Minor Prizes of AU$1,000 Australian Dollar currency loaded onto the prize winner’s Qantas Pay card. The weekly Minor Prize draws (as set out in clause 16) will include all eligible entrants who entered during the applicable Draw Entry Periods.

20. Maximum of one Minor Prize per entrant, Minor Prize draw winners are eligible for the Major Prize draw.

21. The maximum total prize pool value is AU$133,034.38 and is accurate as of Tuesday 8 April 2025. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for changes in prize value between now and the ultimate dates on which the prize is taken. All elements of the prize will be determined by the Promoter. The Major Prize cannot be applied to existing, future or past bookings.

22. The Major Prize includes GST and taxes included in the price of the ticket. Unless otherwise stated, the Major Prize does not include travel insurance, passports, visas, meals, taxes not included in the price of the ticket, ground transportation (including to and from the airport in the winner’s nearest Australian airport Qantas operates from) or any other costs of a personal nature. Compliance with any health or other government requirements is the responsibility of the prize-winner and companion. The Promoter makes no representation as to the safety, conditions or other issues that may exist at any destination. Major Prize travel is subject to Qantas’ General Conditions of Carriage.

23. Major Prize travel is subject to availability at the time of booking and prize travel is subject to availability of prize travel fares at the time of booking. The winner and their companion must travel together on all prize travel and will not accrue Qantas Points on any element of the prize.

24. Major prize travel and foreign currency credit are valid to be taken between 14 June 2026 and 3 October 2026. The Promoter must be advised of the winner’s preferred travel dates before 4 October 2025. The requested travel dates will be considered flexible +/- seven (7) days for flight allocation, subject to seat availability on Qantas operated flights. There can be no changes to travel arrangements once tickets have been issued and booking is confirmed. The foreign currency credit will be issued in Euros. The prize credit value of AU$2,000 of equivalent foreign currency will be loaded onto the prize winner's Qantas Pay card and onto the travel companion’s Qantas Pay card within 60 days of the travel booking confirmation. Both the winner and travel companion must have an active card in good order for the credit to be issued.

25. Minor Prizes will have a prize credit value of AU$1,000 of Australian Dollars currency loaded onto the prize winner's Qantas Pay card within 60 days of prize draw. The winner must have an active card in good order for the credit to be issued.

26. Each prize must be taken as stated and no compensation will be payable if a winner is unable to use the prize as stated. Prizes are not exchangeable or redeemable for cash or other goods or services. A prize cannot be transferred to any other person, unless agreed to by the Promoter. It is a condition of accepting a prize that the winner accepts the conditions of use of that prize.

27. If the prize (or part of the prize) is unavailable, the Promoter, in its discretion, reserves the right to substitute the prize (or that part of the prize) with a prize to the equal value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

28. The Promoter reserves the right to require the winner (and their companion) to sign any legal documentation as and in the form required by the Promoter, Agent, or suppliers of prizes, in their discretion and acting reasonably including without limitation a form of waiver or release with respect to acceptance or usage of the prize, or any liability arising out of or in relation to a Prize or this Competition.

29. All components of the Major Prize are subject to availability. In the event that any component of a prize is unavailable for any reason, subject to any relevant legislation, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute that prize component with another prize of equal value and the prize winner will be notified accordingly.

30. The Major Prize may not be resold or offered for resale at a premium (including via online auction sites) or used for advertising, promotion or other commercial purposes (including competitions and trade promotions) or to enhance the demand for other goods or services by the bearer.

31. In accepting the prize, the winner agrees to participate and cooperate as required in all editorial activities relating to the Competition, including but not limited to being interviewed and photographed. The winner grants the Promoter a twenty four (24) month and non-exclusive licence to use such footage and photographs in all media worldwide and the winner will not be entitled to any fee for such use.

32. The Major Prize winner and their travelling companion agree that they will not sell or otherwise make available their story and/or photographs to any media or other organisation.

33. It is a condition of accepting the prize that the winners must comply with all the conditions of use of the prize and the prize supplier’s requirements.

Notification of the winners

34. The winners will be notified by email and phone within 2 business days of each draw. Their first initial, surname & postcode will be published on www.qantasmoney.com/qantas-pay/competition-2025 from the Winner Announcement Date as stated in clause 16 for each prize draw for a minimum of 30 days.

Right of the Promoter to redraw

35. The Promoter reserves the right to redraw in the event of an entrant/s being unable to satisfy these promotion terms and conditions or forfeiting or not claiming the prize/s. If the prize remains unclaimed at 5:00pm on Friday 19 September 2025, a second chance draw will be conducted by the Drawer on Wednesday 24 September 2025 at the same time and place as the original draw, subject to any written direction given under applicable law. The winner/s determined in accordance with this clause will be notified by email within 2 business days after the draw. Their first initial, surname & postcode will be published on www.qantasmoney.com/qantas-pay/competition-2025 from Wednesday 24 September 2025 for a minimum of 30 days.

Limitation of liability and variation of terms

36. If any act, omission, event or circumstance occurs which is beyond the reasonable control of the Promoter and which prevents the Promoter from complying with these terms and conditions, the Promoter will not be liable for any failure to perform or delay in performing its obligations. The Promoter reserves the right (subject to any applicable law) to cancel, terminate or modify or suspend this promotion.

37. The Promoter, its related bodies corporate and their respective officers, employees, contractors and agents (Promotion Parties) will not be liable for any losses, damages, expenses, costs or personal injuries arising out of this promotion, the promotion of this promotion or the use of any prize, including but not limited to any breach of these terms and conditions, contract or tort (including negligence) and any other common law, equitable or statutory remedy (Damages) whatsoever, including but not limited to direct, indirect and consequential Damages, including Damages that cannot reasonably be considered to arise naturally and in the ordinary course of things, even if those Damages were in the contemplation of the Promotion Parties.

 38. The exclusion of liability in clause 37 does not apply to limit or exclude liability:

a) for personal injury or death suffered or sustained in connection with the supply of goods or services which are supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business. To remove doubt, third party goods or services, which other than in connection with this promotion, are in the normal course of business supplied by a third party unrelated to the Promotion Parties, are not supplied by the Promoter in the ordinary course of business; and the Promoter’s Conditions of Carriage and general booking conditions (and any exclusions contained therein) apply despite any statement to the contrary in these terms and conditions; or

b) to the extent it is not permissible at law to limit or exclude liability in the manner contemplated in that clause (in which case that liability is limited to the maximum extent allowable by law).

Entry details and privacy

39. Entry details remain the property of the Promoter. The name and photograph of the winner may be used for promotional purposes by the Promoter, unless the winner otherwise notifies the Promoter at the time of accepting the prize. Entrants consent to the Promoter using personal information provided in connection with this promotion for the purposes of facilitating the conduct of the promotion and awarding any prizes (including to third parties and any applicable statutory authorities). Without limiting the foregoing, entrants’ personal information provided in connection with this promotion will be handled in accordance with the Promoter’s Privacy Statement, visit www.qantas.com/privacy to obtain a copy.

Tax Implications

40. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for any tax implications that may arise from accepting a prize. Independent financial advice should be sought.
